When to visit Perhentian Island .
The best time to visit Perhentian Islandsis during the off peak season or during the weekdays. It can get really crowded here with during the school holiday weekends and festive holidays and traffic can get really bad especially around the Kuala Besut jetty and Perhentian Island.Perhentian Island will official open on 1st February and most all resort or chalet will officaly open on End of February . From February to March or October are consider Low Season .High season will start from April until September . Most resort and chalet will closed on Middle of October every year due of Monsoon season .

Path Way Travel and Jungle Trekking
Be careful when using Path road or Jungle Trekking at Perhentian Island especially if you are a first timer. There are a lot of path or track here most of the time. If you are not confident, you can take water taxi to other destination you planning to go. If you stay Long Beach , Perhentian Kecil Island ,you use pathway to Coral Bay then to Mira Beach to Pasir Keranji then Fisherman Village .Here you can water taxi to Long Beach either you continue walk direct to Long Beach . Make sure ,you use comfortable shoes .

Internet Wifi
You can use internet free wifi only Restaurant available for house guest only .Internet wifi password you can request at receptionist . The signal internet wifi depends on usage availability . When lots of people using ,possbility internet connection will slow.

Monsoon Season
Most of resort and chalet will closed starting on End of October until February .Due of Monsoon season will start raining and flood. Strong waves and heavy rain during this time.

What to Wear
These days, you can make do with shorts and t-shirt during the day. The temperature can drop in the late evenings or when it rains and a light jacket would come in handy during times like this. Advise to wear sandal or slipper for safety during any water activity at beaches .

If you are planning to spend most of your day in the outdoor bring mineral water .

Credit Card
Credit cards are accepted in most resort You may not be able use credit cards at smaller chalet and almost all of the restaurants here. You may want to check whether your credit card is accepted by looking for the credit card signs at the entrance.

Mini Market or Grocery
Most of mini market and grocery available at all places for Perhentian Kecil Island and Perhentian Besar Island. You can get drink,junk food ,snack,Telefon Top up ,T- Shirt , Short ,Aiskrim ,Body Lotion ,Souviner and bread. The price bit expensive compare to mainland due of transportation charge. Advise you make preparation before you come to Perhentian Island.

Mobile Phone Coverage & Internet Cafe
For Mobile phone coverage for both island ,Perhentian Kecil Island and Perhentian Besar Island. Recommended to use Digi | Celcom | Maxis for mobile phone and internet broadband. Prepaid are recommended to use with good rates.

 

No Banks & Money Changers
There no money changer at Perhentian Island. You need change before you come to Perhentian Island either at Airport or major city. If you spend for 3-5 Day at Perhentian Island,make sure you have cash money at least RM800 or more . Its depends how your spending at Islands. ATM only available at Kuala Besut jetty. Walking distance around 15 minutes from jetty.

Police Station | Local Clinic
You can get help from local authority but its located in Fisherman Village or Kampong in Perhentian Kecil Island . Please refer to your hotel ,chalet or resort ,while you staying there.

Safety and Valuable
Procaution are the best solution to avoid any problem during your traveling. Do not travel alone to other outdoor without friend .During your outdoor activity ,highly adviseble to bring togehter or leave your belong at receiptionist or front office desk. If your room have safety box also recommended to put .Make sure all your belongs are with you at all time. Do not leave any valuable things without person in charge.

Perhentian Kecil Island
Long Beach are located at Perhentian Kecil Island ,Here lots criminal and bad thing happend here. During night,tourist will have dinner at beaches . Here also have open disco served alcohol drink , music and other think. Some of tourist will have time party .Please do not drunk to avoid any bad thing happen here. Please be on higher precaution all your belongs during stay at Long Beach due of lots drug addict here.

Kota Bharu Airport nearest Perhentian Island
Among the nearest Airport to Perhentian Island. Kota Bharu Airport to Kuala Besut jetty ,will take 1 hour by Airport Taxi or Shuttle Van.Once you arrive here,you need to take the fast boat to Perhentian Island. Fast boat will available around 8.30am | 9.30am | 10..0am onwards ,until 4.30pm last boat. Any flight delays,you need to inform to your Travel agency as soon as possible. Its mean boatmen will waiting until you arrive at Kuala Besut jetty. In case ,Your flight delays after 5.00pm.Its better your overnight in Kuala Besut jetty then take early morning boat to Perhentian Island.

Perhentian Island to Kota Bharu Airport
Fast Boat will leave from Perhentian Island at 8.00am | 12.00pm | 4.00pm . Its take about 45 minutes boat ride from Perhentian Island to Kuala Besut jetty. Then take a taxi or shuttle van to Kota Bharu Airport ,you will reach within 1 hour. Example ,You take 8.00am boat from Perhentian Island,you will arrive at Kuala Besut jetty around 8.45am.Then Taxi or Shuttle Van will transfer from Kuala Besut jetty direct to Kota Bharu Airport and arrive around 10.00am. If you book flight from Kota Bharu Airport,we advise your book minimum 2 hour before departure. If you book flight at 2.45pm Departure from Kota Bharu Airport and take fast boat leave at 12.00pm,you will miss the flight. On this secenario,we advise you to take 8.00am morning boat from Perhentian Island.
